Brass

Brass Caption HeadMatt Jaeger

Matt has been involved in drum & bugle corps since 2004, performing and teaching with a number of groups across NYS including Ghost Riders Mini Corps, Rochester Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, Greece Marching Blue Knights, and the Pride of Rochester Marching Band. While at White Sabers, he has held the positions of Brass Caption Head, drum major, as well as marching trumpet or mellophone.


Percussion

Percussion Caption Head –Jordan Ripley

Jordan marched with the White Sabers from 2006-2016. After being a section leader of the battery for various years, he went on to march snare at United Percussion 2015 and 2016. He then taught Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps in 2017, 2018, and 2019 filling the roles of tenor technician, snare technician, and tenor technician/battery coordinator.


Colorguard

Colorguard Caption Head Kara Brown

Kara has been involved in the marching arts since 2005. She began her color guard career marching with the Patriots Winterguard, and continued marching with them for 10 years until her ageout of A Class in 2015. Kara has performed with the Rochester Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps (2007-2009), Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps (2010-2013), and the White Sabers Drum & Bugle Corps (2015-2019).

Kara enjoys passing along her passion for the activity to students and color guard members of all ages. She has worked with numerous organizations in the Upstate New York area included Gates Chili Colorguard, Medina Mustang Marching Band, and the White Sabers Drum & Bugle Corps. She started working with Gates Chili Colorguard organization 10 years ago as an instructor. She has worked with the parade and field band colorguard, and is acting as the lead instructor & show designer for the JV winterguard for her 6th season this winter.

Kara had the opportunity to work with the Medina Mustang Marching Band this fall. She is proud to have been part of a strong instructional staff that led the band to its NYSFBC Championship winning season. She was also on the White Sabers Colorguard staff in the summer of 2019. The White Sabers has been an important part of Kara’s life for the past 7 years and she is excited for the chance to act as the Colorguard Caption Head this season.

When she is not marching or teaching, Kara works full-time as an Interior Designer at an Architectural Firm in Rochester, NY.


Visual

Visual Caption Head Tim Moshier

Tim is thrilled to return for his second year as Visual Caption Head. He began his drum corps experience with the White Sabers in 2013. As a trumpet player and soloist, he was part of the White Sabers’ DCA Championship seasons in 2013 and 2014. He went on to march with the Bluecoats in 2016 in their DCI World Championship production “Down Side Up.” He returned to the White Sabers in 2017 as a brass and visual instructor before touring with 7th Regiment in 2018 as a trumpet technician. He was the Visual Caption Head for the Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps in 2019 and 2020.

Tim has been on staff for numerous New York State Champion marching bands. He presently serves as the Director and Visual Designer for the Vestal High School Marching Band, where he has taught since 2016.

He is a full-time band director in the Baldwinsville Central School District where he also serves on staff for its marching band. His concert bands and private students consistently receive Superior ratings at solo and ensemble festivals throughout the Northeast.

Tim received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Fredonia State University in 2016, where he studied trumpet with Roderick MacDonald and Peter Lindblom. He will graduate in August of 2022 with his Master’s in Music Education from the American Band College at Central Washington University.
