Dear White Sabers members, staff, friends, family, and the drum corps community,
The COVID-19 situation in NYS, and around the world, has put us all into unprecedented and uncertain times. There are so many questions and few answers at this point in time as we all navigate our own professional, economical, and personal lives. The drum corps world is no different; we have all experienced canceled rehearsals, performances, fundraisers, recruiting opportunities, and even entire seasons. With such uncertainty, it is important to remind ourselves that where there is a will, there is a way. We are confident in the leadership within the administration, staff, and membership at the White Sabers, that we will not only weather this storm, but seek solutions that will help catapult the organization forward, not just for this current year, but for many seasons to come. We firmly believe that with a shared vision and with the courage to persevere, we will survive and thrive, not only in the immediate future, but for the foreseeable future.
The plan going forward will become clearer as more information is provided, but we are planning on continuing the current competitive season with virtual camps starting in April. An announcement will be posted in the interest groups very soon that will explain the process. If you are still intending on marching this season your participation at home in the virtual camp is required. The schedule for the rest of the season will be updated as the situation unfolds and information becomes more readily available.
As always, the safety and well-being of every member of the White Sabers family is of utmost importance. We appreciate all of your dedication and perseverance in this very difficult time. Remember to check in with each other, and lean on your instrument or equipment to find joy. Together we WILL weather the storm.
Sincerely,
The White Sabers Administration
